A Founding Circle Member of SharePower Responsible Investing, Richard currently serves as Registered Principal and OSJ (Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction) for the advisors of SharePower. Richard has been combining his financial acumen with a lifelong commitment to social justice since becoming a financial advisor with Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. in 1985. In 1996 he joined Progressive Asset Management, Inc. (PAMI), the first independent socially responsible investment broker/dealer where he served as Director of Social Research & Shareowner Advocacy from 2004 to 2012 and as President from 2008 to 2011. In those positions, Richard developed the social research program, developed SRI products and guided the organization to become the first retail brokerage firm to endorse the United Nations Global Compact and the U.N. Principles for Responsible Investment. Richard brings a wealth of professional expertise in economic and social analysis, shareowner advocacy and SRI portfolio management to his practice working with clients.

Richard has served as President of Nuclear Free America, Inc., a main provider of corporate information about nuclear weapons and military contractors to the social investing movement. Richard has been interviewed by numerous publications and electronic media, including National Public Radio and the Philadelphia Inquirer. He has written on social investing topics and is a featured public speaker and conducting seminars, training sessions and educational events on socially responsible investment. A graduate of The Johns Hopkins University, Richard has also been recognized in Who’s Who in Service to the Earth and Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.

A fiduciary is an investment professional or financial advisor who is required by law and practice to act solely in the interests of and with undivided loyalty to their clients.  A financial advisor with the AIF® designation is formally recognized by the Center for Fiduciary Studies for demonstrating a full understanding of how to implement those processes to help individuals and families achieve their investment goals in a responsible manner.

As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, Richard will make sure your financial needs are the most important criteria for making investment decisions. He receives continuing professional education regarding the responsibilities of Investment Fiduciaries and attests to an AIF Code of Ethics regarding his responsibilities of putting clients' needs first.
